Advice for Grandchildren
I wanted to collect some wisdom for grandchildren. I’ve got four grandchildren of my own. I did a quick scan and here’s what I came up with:
—Life doesn’t happen on text. Don’t let technology distract you from real human connection. (Connie Zweig)
—Become a compassionate role model. (Connie Zweig)
—Be a lifelong learner. (Terry Arzt)
—Whatever you do, throw your heart into it. (Terry Arzt)
—No matter what happens to you, take responsibility for it. (Terry Arzt)
—Life is not a dress rehearsal. (Richard Branson)
—Be open with everyone around you, especially your parents. They will always be there for you… (Richard Branson)
—Above all, love and know that you are loved. (Richard Branson)
—Let generosity flow. (Susan Tate)
—Practice forgiveness. (Susan Tate)
—Be grateful. Think of 10 things every night to be grateful for. (Susan Tate)
—Do everything with the 7th generation in mind. (Stephanie Pace Marshall)
—Pay attention, and listen for the sacred that lies hidden in the ordinary. (Stephanie Pace Marshall)
—There is no substitute for hard work. (Bob Schackner)
—Don’t lie. It’s so much easier to remember the truth. (Bob Schackner)
—If you chase money, you will never catch it. (Shaun Holloway)
—Think how you can, not why you can’t. (Shaun Holloway)
—Never lose hope. And never underestimate the power of prayer. (Kat Hawthorne)
I hope these quotes with advice for grandchildren encourage you to make time for them this week. Reach out to them and make a memory that becomes a family story.
What advice would you add to this list?
