Number Your Days App
I heard Gary talk about it. He wrote it in his Bible—the number of days before his daughter graduated from high school. He wanted to make sure that he didn’t miss any of them. So it was there for him every single day.
His comment made me wonder. Is there such an app? Sure enough, I searched on my iPhone and found it. The app that gave me the countdown. I could plug in anything.
I tried it. I plugged in the date of my son’s high school graduation, and it spoke to me in plain simple terms: 574 days. I checked it again. Too small. Too quick. I thought I had more time. Yet there it was again—less than 2 years.
I’m glad they made such an app, but I wish it really weren’t needed. I wish that I treated every day as my last. I wish I counted each moment as precious. I wish that I lived that tomorrow might not come, and that the hours I had right now with my wife, my children, my friends were the only ones that I had.
So thank you Lord for giving people the skill to make an app that allows us to calculate our days. But most of all Lord give me a heart that causes me to treasure each moment now.
